Selling in Canada - Requirements for Non-Residents
NON - RESIDENT BUSINESS REGISTRATION TO SELL IN CANADA
Here is the link to register your business in Canada - you will need a Business Number - which then will give you a GST # as well. Please read further to understand that you will only need a Business Number in Canada to start selling. A GST# is only required once you hit $30,000 CDN in worldwide sales.
Here is the link to the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) where you can find all the details on how to register your Business in Canada. Scroll down to the Non- Resident section and follow the instructions on how to submit your application online.

It will take a minimum of 6 weeks to get your Businesss Number.
The best number for non-residents to call to ask questions if needed:
1-866-453-0452
PLEASE DO YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE ON THIS! CALL THE NUMBER TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION FOR YOUR SPECIFIC SITUATION (eg. if you live in another country other than the US)
We did some digging from a US Resident's Perspective and they gave us that number above , along with the sections to fill out on the form.
After it is filed--with your Company info, they will call you at some point to verify some info about your company. When filling out the RC1 form, you need to fill out sections A, B, (if you need to register for GST- IE: you have over $30,000 in worldwide sales), and H--and sign the form. That signs you up for a business number associated with your Company.
You do not need to register for GST # until you reach $30,000 in turnover.. (this is worldwide turnover). And you do not need to register for an import/export number as SHF does this for you.
Other than the GST, because of the treaty between Canada and the US, you won't need to file any income tax here in Canada...if there is ever anything owed, the Canadian government will get it through the IRS--and not directly from you. AGAIN - do your own diligence on this! It may differ from country to country.
