Product Calculations
Watch the video to see how to create, edit, view and delete a live product calculation.
Â
To access the Profit Calculator, select the Profit Calculator icon from the left navigation and click on Product Calculations.
This will take you to a list of your Live Product Calculations. If you don’t have any existing Product Calculations yet, this page will be empty.
If you have pages of Calculations, you can use the Filters to search for the one you want. Just click on the blue bar to open the filter.
Enter in the details to search for and click on Search. Then click on Reset to return to the full list.
Alternatively, you can use the quick Search facility on the left. Just type in a few letters or numbers and only those Products with those letters or numbers will be shown highlighted in yellow.
Just delete to go back to the full list.
Clicking on the SKU link will move you to the Product Common Data page for that Product.
Creating a new Product Calculation
To create a new Product Calculation, either click on the easy access + link from any page in the EcoSystem or click on the Create button when you are already in the Profit Calculator Application.
This will open a new page where you will need to select the Product SKU from the drop down list of your current list of Products. Once you have selected the Product SKU, the individual dimensions are automatically populated.
Then you will need to give your Calculation a name in case you want to do more than one variable for the same Product. This is a mandatory field and needs to be completed before saving.
If you have any information that needs amending, you will need to go back into your Product to change your live Product data. If you are not able to amend the live Product data, this generally means that you have either a replenishment order or shipping order in progress related to the live Product.
Once the shipping order has been processed, you will then be able to update your live Product data. If you need to urgently change your live Product data, you will need to contact support@marketplacesuperheroes.com
Then select the Stock Location from the drop down box. The only options available will be the Marketplaces that you have set up.
The Sales Price will automatically populate with the relevant currency for the Stock Location you chose.
When you originally created your Product, ensure that the Sales price was entered for all Marketplaces you will be selling in, otherwise your Product Calculation will not work as there will be no Sales price to work from.
The Units Per Outer and Duty Rate are automatically populated to default figures but can be amended and should be kept as accurate as possible, as this will affect your inward fulfilment cost per unit.
Please bear in mind the maximum Amazon limits for Units Per Outer/Master Carton. They advise that there should be no more than 150 units per Outer/Master Carton.
The duty rate will default to 5%, however please make sure you check the duty rate for your Product based on the commodity code. If a duty rate and tariff applies to your Product, enter in the total for both.
Inputting an incorrect duty rate will affect your profitability calculation.
Click on Calculate and all the fields will be populated.
You will notice that if you choose a Stock Location other than the USA, the Cost Price will display in USD$ as well as the currency for the Stock Location.
In the example shown below, there is the USD$ figure of $9 with the equivalent by the side for the UK.
Click on save to save your calculation or if you don’t want to save, just navigate away using any of the navigation options.
If you save, you will be taken back to your list of Live Product Calculations and you will receive a confirmation that your calculation has been successfully created.
Once you have created Live Product Calculations, you can choose to View, Edit or Delete them.
Viewing a Product Calculation
When you click on view, you will be taken to the Product Common Data where you will be able to view the calculation for your Product in various currencies depending on which Marketplaces you are selling in.
Just click on the tabs across the top to switch between the currencies. This will also change the Stock Location.
You are able to change the sales price, which will then recalculate your profit figures. Just type in the price you want to try and click on tab.
When you do, a blue button will appear asking if you want to save this new sales price which will then change it in the Product common data.
You will receive a confirmation that the sales price has been saved for your Product.
The Cost Price shows two figures - the USD$ cost on the left and then the Stock Location currency on the right. If this happens to be the USA, then the two figures will be the same.
Editing a Product Calculation
When you click on Edit, you will be able to change the Stock Location, Units Per Outer, Duty Rate and the Calculation Description.
Click on calculate again to revise the figures and then save before exiting this calculation, otherwise you will lose the information.
If you change the information, when you Save, you will overwrite your original calculation even if you rename it.
Deleting a Product Calculation
Clicking on delete will remove the product calculation from the list.
